Garden Solutions Landscaping installs 25,000 gallon rainwater system in Laguna Seca

GSL installed a 25,000 gallon system that will be used to irrigate landscape at this beautiful Laguna Seca home.  The rainwater system will be a nice complement to the solar photovoltaic and solar hot water system currently installed at the home.  The landscape, encompassing over 2.5 acres, is very natural without any lawn.  It also includes raised bed planters, a rose garden, citrus trees, and many other plants and shrubs that will be irrigated with rainwater.  The collection area is approximately 4,000 square feet and will provide 31,000 gallons of water during an average rainfall year.  GSL intercepted a 6" drain pipe that emptied onto the street and ran it down to an 850 square foot pad with five 5,000-gallon tanks.  Leaf Solution gutter filters are being used to filter rainwater from much of the roof and stainless steel mesh is being used to filter catch basin water from the driveway.  Several lengthy clean-outs are being used to capture first flush water before rainwater enters the tank system.  Overflow water will run into an infiltration pit and be dispersed in the natural landscape near the tank system. A pump system has been installed to provide water for irrigation to new spigots and tied into the existing automated drip system.
